60 day voicemail frustration

By: andreww | 14-05-2013 16:26

A little known fact is that if you don't access your giffgaff voicemail for 60 days any customisation is lost (no pin, no personalised greeting etc) and you're not informed it has happened :smileysad:

If having gone to the trouble of setting these, to find if you did need to urgently check voicemail from another phone if would be very annoying to find you can't!

This is idea is very simple - once a PIN and/or a personalised greeting has been set - just leave it there without any time limits for it to be removed :smileywink:

Good idea. 60 days seems like a short amount of time. I think voicemail options should not be reset to default for any reason.

This is a particular problem when you are abroad, as I have explained in this similar idea:

A 60day voicemail limit is a bit useless. Any voicemail settings changes should be permanent. Many people do not make voice calls or voicemail is not that often used anymore, so expecting people to check voicemail every 60 days adds no value.

As a build on this idea, would it not be possible for users to have the option of switching the current system on or off.  If left on, then your customisation would continue to reset after 60 days (which might help those who forget access information) if switched off, your customisation stay indefinitely.

I'm happy to support the idea - perhaps with this slight modification of having the choice rather than one thing or the other.

Ahh...maybe this is why I'm asked to set a new pin every time I ring voicemail? I don't get many voicemails so don't know what the timescale is in between.

Has caused me problems in the past too. If it's a case of techically to difficult at the mo, then the current workflow needs to add a sms trigger to notify box reset, so at least fallout can be minimised! +1
