60 day voicemail frustration

By: andreww | 14-05-2013 16:26

A little known fact is that if you don't access your giffgaff voicemail for 60 days any customisation is lost (no pin, no personalised greeting etc) and you're not informed it has happened :smileysad:

If having gone to the trouble of setting these, to find if you did need to urgently check voicemail from another phone if would be very annoying to find you can't!

This is idea is very simple - once a PIN and/or a personalised greeting has been set - just leave it there without any time limits for it to be removed :smileywink:

I've got a sore update to that "60 days" rule:

Last time I checked my voicemail was on the 28th March and yesterday Monday 16th April, my voicemail was deactivated (a client alerted me by email that they couldn't leave a message), which means only 18 days passed between the last time I checked my voicemail and yesterday reset.

In regard to this experience it seems to me that the voicemail randomly sets itself off, 60 days rule or not.

Can someone please confirm they're having the same problem?

I can confirm this - it's happened to me too. I think the 60 day rule is supposed to be how it works, but the voicemail can randomly reset. You should also be aware that if you've adjusted the number of seconds on divert on no reply to voicemail by dialling **61*443*10*X# (X being a number between 5 and 30 in incriments of 5)this is reset back to the default as well. Very annoying. It's an O2 issue though so all Giffgaff can do is take it up with O2 and let them know their users aren't happy.

This is a great idea - has this been addressed though? I stopped setting up voicemail in my giffgaff phone, due to this feature as anyway it gets deleted after 60 days..so what's the point?
