60 day voicemail frustration

By: andreww | 14-05-2013 16:26

A little known fact is that if you don't access your giffgaff voicemail for 60 days any customisation is lost (no pin, no personalised greeting etc) and you're not informed it has happened :smileysad:

If having gone to the trouble of setting these, to find if you did need to urgently check voicemail from another phone if would be very annoying to find you can't!

This is idea is very simple - once a PIN and/or a personalised greeting has been set - just leave it there without any time limits for it to be removed :smileywink:

I think you should get a full access to voicemail whether you top up £5 £10 £20 especially when you working on community as that as well I just don't get me why community workers don't get free voicemails and data I just don't get that all..

What if you have a voice mail from a loved one but don't often use your voice mail service. You may wish to save that message indefinitely without having to worry about making sure you access your voice mail on a regular basis. I speak from experience as someone who uses voice mail very infrequently but who has in the past lost loved ones and wanted to keep their messages.

If the telephone number is active the voicemail should remain active.

I'm fairly new to giffgaff and am very happy with it so far. However, I have been frustrated at not being able to access my voicemail and repeatedly being asked to set up a new PIN for it. I had no idea why this was happening til I looked at this thread! I agree with the majority, this needs reviewing urgently, if only so I can get rid of the voicemail symbol that is permanently on my screen!

I'm all for this as well. I've set my elderly mother's message to confirm to callers that it's the right number and saying "Don't leave a message as she'll not be able to play it back. Just try again later please.". By definition she'll never access it but I want people to get a personalised message. I keep having to redo it for her.
