60 day voicemail frustration

A little known fact is that if you don't access your giffgaff voicemail for 60 days any customisation is lost (no pin, no personalised greeting etc) and you're not informed it has happened :smileysad:


If having gone to the trouble of setting these, to find if you did need to urgently check voicemail from another phone if would be very annoying to find you can't!


This is idea is very simple - once a PIN and/or a personalised greeting has been set - just leave it there without any time limits for it to be removed :smileywink:

I didn't know about this.  I haven't set up voicemail yet but would be annoyed if I had and it disappeared without notification.  Not sure whether to bother to set up voicemail now.

This has been driving me nuts. I hardly get any voicemails, but when I do I have to set my PIN even though I've done it many times before. I can't see any reason why there should be a 60 day limit, but if there is a good reason, then please can you add a mention of it to the recorded prompt when you set your PIN. E.g. "Thanks for setting your PIN - please remember if you don't access it for 60 days it will be reset and you will have to set new PIN."

Have you decided whether you are going to stop resetting our voicemail accounts as yet? It is very frustrating. If you are not going to stop doing it, can you let us know why not?

100% supported, when I eventually discovered why my pin was gone (Giffgaff SIM used for backup/private phone so not much by way of messages) and needing resetting, I couldn't believe it and never encountered anything of the sort before.

The worst thing was a request in H&S from someone who didn't know about it and all the voice messages from a deceased family member was lost by this mechanism.
