Invoice layout amendment

By: j_samuels | 02-09-2019 11:01

At the top of Giffgaff invoices there is a thick black bar with the reverse print lettering - GiffGaff the network run by you.-

This serves no more use than being a trendy design. When I print out my VAT invoices, the black alone bar consumes a very large amount of ink due to the print area it covers. My ink at my expense. Even on low resolution print settings it saturates the paper enough to make it go wrinkly behind the black bar.

Could the graphics designer of the template behind everyones invoice, please remove this black bar and simply have the header in normal print. It will reduce the amount of ink we are all having to use when printing our invoices.

Thankyou.

Simple and obvious observation, combined with the economics of running my self employed business.

I have now read some replies and the ones to a person who submitted the same idea last year before I subscribed to giffgaff. There are a number of people here who don't see the point of it or think it is not worth bothering with.

There are plenty of people who need to print out the VAT invoice where printed records are needed. As said before, the very large black bar is not needed but consumes a very large amount of black ink. A lot of people do not appreciate the cost of their own inkjet ink.

Each ink tank for my Canon TS6151 printer holds 13.5 ml of ink at a cost of £14 a cartridge. Therefore 1 litre of ink equates to 74 x 13.5ml cartridges costing £14 each. Which adds up to a cost of £1,036 per litre. That is by no means cheap.

I see that the people who run Giff Gaff have yet to comment, or remove the black bar.

Stop spamming. You didn't even read the idea as you spammed another idea with the same comment only 5 seconds ago.

Personally I can't see the need to print receipts and invoices for VAT purposes when all modern accounting software allows digital copies to be filed.

But I'm still going to support this idea because it is a simple change that will help some people.

Hello Keith, that may be the case, I still need printed copies of all my receipts for my business.

Saves unnecessary expense in ink and so it's a no brainer really.

Less ink cartridges used long term,so less waste into landfill.(not everyone recycles them)
