Eco Friendly Sims

By: davidgbartlett | 24-07-2019 13:23

What steps are giffgaff taking to be more eco friendly, environmentally conscious and reduce CO footprint? We all know this is a current issue in our day.

My suggestion is for giffgaff to jump on this band wagon and promote itself as a 'green' network provider, to gain rapport with the public and access more potential customers.

However to do this, it needs to make changes.

How about changing the way sims are packaged? I would not be referring to the paper part, which is recyclable, but the plastic frame around the sim. Could giffgaff explore options to remove this and use another medium which is recyclable, such as card? How this would work would need trial and testing.

Thanks for reading.

I am passionate about the environment, climate change, and recycling.

Certainly giffgaff have made changes to the SIM packaging to make it more eco friendly and it would be good to reduce the plastic even further, so I did support the previously submitted ideas on this.

the frame has already shrunk from its original size.i`m sure if a more environmentally friendly option came along giffgaff would use it

100% support your concern/idea.

I suppose cost will be the big issue with alot of companies.

It is a small idea that I think could really boost Giffgaff's public profile. The only other physical product that Giffgaff sells (off the top of my head) is phones so we could also make sure that those are sold in cardboard boxes (I think they are already) with no plastic packaging.

It would be another reason to join giffgaff from other networks, you've got my vote!
