Mark as Read just the Notification that was read, reduce the count by just one

By: adrius42 | 23-06-2019 15:16

Searched the Lab found another Notification Idea (or two) but they are not the same as this one.

When I spot I have 69 notifications by the number against the bell, I click it to read one or two, spot a title I am interested in.

I read it but when I come back to the notifications, all the 69 have become zero and ALL the notifications are marked as read.

So now I have no idea which ones I have read.

This idea is posted as much to try and make sure that our new community platform does not work the same way.

I do not expect to get it fixed on our current platform.

Benefit: Users will be able manage curate and engage with notifications both more effectively and more efficiently.

On Notifications

Allow me to manage notification emails more finely eg Some instant, some types daily, some types weekly digest (Already Suggested)

Allow the GiffGaff app to notify me on my smart phone(Already Suggested)

Allow notifications to be deleted (Already Suggested)

Only Mark as read the notification that was actually read (This suggestion)

Keep an accurate count of unread suggestions (This suggestion)

I agree with all the above and hope our new platform will live up to these suggestions.

This sounds like a poor design flaw but I don't think giffgaff will be that incentivised to fix this, as it relates to the Labs functioning itself, rather than an Idea that improves giffgaff's business / experience
