GIFFGAFF PUSH TO TALK

By: lenolondon | 10-05-2019 11:58

ROIP - Radio Over Internet Protocol ..... If the owners of GiifGaff, Telephonica made a service like Zello, but left only for customers of GiffGaff, O2 and other firms owned by the Spanish giant, possibly Tesco Mobile who are 50% owned by O2, this would give those that want it instant push to talk communications.

It is all set up working on an app on the handset's 3G or 4G service, and it's like a 2 way radio system that people set up as their own.

You could have 2 to 100 or more with there own network.

Push to talk is instant to those in the users own network

have a look at www.zello.com for a look at a similar idea

would that not be negating call time on goodybags etc. Would be great for members but giffgaff would run at a loss I reckon. If a premium is charged then maybe. Plus with the implementation of data services for calls like Viber, WhatsApp etc, not sure of the benefit here.

Giffgaff are a business and if it's not financially feasible, i can't see this idea going anywhere.

Well if this is what I believe it to be, it is true that it would not be easy for Giffgaff to claw back a revenue for this type of usage but in the same way it probably wouldn't have any great effect on goodybag sales.

Having often to visit remote sites for work it is not uncommon that one or more network services are poor even absent, this would be a great benefit for communicating with other co workers nearby using ROIP enabled devices, especially useful for patching someone using two way radio with another using a smartphone or PDA.
