MY IDEA.......

GIFFGAFF TO SELL MOBILE PHONES FOR THE ELDERLY AND PEOPLE WHO HAVE ACCESBILITY NEEDS WHO CAN NOT USE A NEWER HANDSET DEVICE.

For some older people and those who have disabilities, using a standard mobile phone can be difficult, but there are alternatives on the market and giffgaff could be more accessible buy selling standard mobile phones..

In this guide, am going to highlight the basic phones that are suitable for those with limited vision and/or hearing and for elderly persons.

I am going to examine some of the most important features including accessible keypads and emergency button options phones on the market likely to be purchased for seniors or those with disabilities.

All of these are available on a pay-as-you-go basis, ensuring that vulnerable customers don't get hit by unnecessary charges such as those being on a contract.

I have found that elderly contract phone users were out of pocket by an average of £264 due to the structure of contracts and operators knowingly overcharging.

INFORMATION FROM CITIZENS ADVICE

It's no secret that vulnerable users are likely to have difficulty with complexity, whether that's in the form of a contract or just a complicated handset packed with features they don't necessarily need like the phones that giffgaff currently sell.

I have included phones for them of our elderly, our disabled customers our shared care goes further with the phones as people have dexterity needs, people with all kinds of problems.

You may be thinking to yourself

( Just a phone for the elderly)

( Already been a idea ????)

Well think again this idea is for the many people out there that have many problems with there disabilities.

It's hard to fully understand the problems with our elderly generation and people who have accessibility problems who need a mobile phone but find it difficult to use a handset.

I believe in myself but some may disagree that the market in the mobile phone industry is aimed at the younger generation.

So I would like giffgaff to learn something from this idea and sell mobile phones on giffgaffs website for all ages and handsets that are compatible for the above persons am not talking about a lot maybe three to four handset.

It may be a very small market but for a company like giffgaff that pride themselves on being at the forefront of customer service and also customer care that is run by us our members surely they with our members input can research and provide mobile phones for customers.

I am sure person's with the needs of such a handset with special features to suit them run into the thousands let's make no mistake here.

Giffgaff can and should learn that there accessibility options can go that one step further than a box at the bottom of there website.

https://www.giffgaff.com/boiler-plate/accessibilit...

Some of our older generation and people that have hearing issues and also other dexterity problems can not use a newer model of mobile phone handsets, myself finds it difficult to use newer generation of mobiles.

Mobile phones that can be implemented and launched on to the giffgaff market are not expensive and have features that incorporate a better use of handset for the people who might find it hard to use the current crop.

(PLEASE FIND THE ATTACHED LINK OF THE HANDSETS GIFFGAFF ARE SELLING.)

https://www.giffgaff.com/mobile-phones

I have examined some of the handset that have the features that will help.

TEXT RELAY HANDSETS, READ ALOUD SPEAKER BUTTONS

(BIG BUTTON HANDSETS)

(READ ALOUD BUTTONS AND SOS BUTTON)

(BIG SCREEN INTEGRATION)

(INTEGRATED TORCH ????)

Just imagine for 1 minute about maybe a relative of yours with dexetery problems or they might have sight hearing problems even people with limb or hand injuries the struggle they might go through just to use a new handset like a samsung s8 or a iPhone or hawawei.

Like my nan she's my world her name was elsie she has sight problems she had a talking book a big button house phone but not a mobile for when she is in her bed or even in the kitchen if she needs myself or my family in a emergency one press of the SOS button and that would call a family member or preset to the police.

Yes you might think the elderly have all these pendants called lifeline around their neck and they just have to press the button, but do people realise how much they are to service and for the equipment ( A few quid ) not everyone can afford them but for 35.00 pounds upwards to buy a cheap but a very important aspect of there day to day life.

To myself it's a lifeline for them not just for emergencies but to talk to family and friends to connect to the world.

Phones that giffgaff could sell and likely to be purchased by the people who have difficulty with any aspect of the above can be made available at cheap price.

(PLEASE SEE ATTACHED LINKS OF THE HANDSETS THAT COULD BE PURCHASED.)

Some of the above models come with features such as a talking keypad option that, when switched on, reads the number that has just been pressed and is a popular feature amongst those with low vision who may be worried about dialling wrong numbers.

Some phones come with hearing aid compatible and Bluetooth enabled.

I DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO TYPE TO GET GIFFGAFF ON BOARD WITH THIS ????.

LET'S HOPE AND PRAY THAT DISABLED PEOPLE AND THE ELDERLY AND PEOPLE WHO HAVE ACCESBILITY NEEDS TO NAME A FEW HAVE THERE WISH GRANTED.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR VOTES AND COMMENTS.

Supported but how would they be able to buy goody bag with basic phone if they don't have Internet access? If they could buy goody bag via text or call, that would be fantastic.

Thanks for the kind reply as for the goodybags, this is a question that giffgaff can go into, Maybe a prepaid sim with say ten pounds already on so they insert the sim and then it's all done then next time they can buy a voucher,. Until giffgaff look into it its just a idea at moment but thanks for the kind input
