Regarding: Combating SIM Theft.
I can’t believe that this hasn’t been done already (phone accounts get hi-jacked). Setting up a pass phrase, so that if I ever need a new SIM, I have to give the pass phrase before I can activate said SIM.
you could send a code to activate by post then send the sim the next day to make sure there is no hijacking
Perhaps you should set up a way that customers when having to active the SIM card when they first join they have a choice of setting a sim code for their activied SIM....
Without activing the sim u cannot use it anyway so is easier way of having more security over your own SIM, ???
This might be hard to do
Here my idea. I think giffgaf should also offer sims for, small and large business, with a little bit of extra stuff, and nice affordable prices
I'm quite happy with the way this currently works, having just lost a phone and really wanting to keep my number and everything, Giffgaff made it so easy.
The activation code being sent in the post is the 2 part authentication everyone expects as a text now days. (Obviously that can't happen with your SIM).
I agree that any additional features to secure this process would not be a bad idea, but I do believe it is not needed.
Thanks for reading,
Brilliant idea! +1. Security is the main thing.
I like that ????
I am supporting this idea.
