I can’t believe that this hasn’t been done already (phone accounts get hi-jacked). Setting up a pass phrase, so that if I ever need a new SIM, I have to give the pass phrase before I can activate said SIM.
Thanks

I just wonder how this would work if your only internet access is via your phone, and only way of receiving SMS is on your phone; if your phone is compromised, would you be able to verify your OWN re-activation … and if your phone is stolen might not other information also be compromised.
Maybe I am over-thinking the idea … I am just aware that I have forgotten my Apple ID … and I haven’t got a clue what question or answer I set up at the time … so I am a bit stymied … and cannot install any apps on my iPad (not even giffgaff app, or an app for my survey company, even when those apps are ‘free’).

Maybe some kind on two factor authorisation - in case email and/ or sim has been compromised?

I don't like a pass phrase but I would be open to alternative suggestions

when to do this will depend on complaints as the service line has no number to call
