Fairer usage

By: gbi2 | 15-12-2018 23:15

I pay £25.00 a month on the off chance that I will need unlimited data, but never have, until now. Most months I use maybe 1 or 2 Gb, but still happily pay my £25.00. Very occasionally I have a week away in the motorhome, but still never use much data. This month, I have been laid up with a fractured hip, so have, for the first time, used 20gb, and now my download speed has been restricted. Fair enough, I guess, because it clearly states it will be, but here's a thing. Why not look at my history over say the last year, see that I have used minimal data, and now that I need it, let me use all of it at once! That way, I will continue to pay my £25.00 a month, rather than chopping and changing and spending the absolute minimum. I currently pay for my phone, my wife's and three colleagues. If I have to constantly check usage of five phones, and pay the minimum on each, then maybe GiffGaff isn't going to be my best option. I can understand why download speeds need to be restricted, but for someone who has never even come close to using 20gb in a month, and is a very loyal customer, it does seem a bit harsh and unfair. Just a thought!!!

Yes, should be fair use policy.

£25 a month is a lot to pay when you don't use much data. Is there any way you and your wife and colleagues can review what they think they need at the beginning of each month?

I am not a heavy user myself but can understand how others could benefit from your idea.
