Best answers set ONLY by best answer setters!

By: smithster225225 | 24-07-2018 11:06

As we all know, best answers are mega important for payback. The more best answers, the better your payback.

I think the current best answer system is flawed.

Currently, it's the member who posts the question that can set the best answer.

I propose that this should change!

I think it would be better to have best answers set ONLY by official best answer setters.

Currently, a member who posts the question can choose a best answer and it is automatically applied without any screening. I think that when a best answer is chosen, it should go into a queue for a best answer setter to either accept it as best answer or choose the answer they find best for that thread as they see fit.

Maybe even remove the best answer option all together and have only a kudo button?

1. This will DEFINITELY encourage members to post better answers!!!!

2. Members who take time to compose a well thought out, thorough and relevant answer, get the credit they deserve

3. This will stop best answers being set that might not necessarily contain the correct information

I know my idea might be controversial, BUT, when you think about it, surely the best answer should get 'Best Answer'

Smithster its a good, well thought out idea. Good job. However, the idea itself doesn't seem too popular by reading some of the comments. I would have to agree with those against for reasons already stated. But you do have a point.

Best regards
