Anti spam / post flooding on Labs

By: bertiebat | 10-05-2018 18:38

Control unintentional comment duplication and also the spamming of unconsidered copy and paste comments by implementing a post flooding mechanism on Labs.
It's used on the normal forum (so the software to do this already exists) and works by not allowing an identical post/comment to be posted within a set period of time.
Very bored with checking my labs notifications and seeing a whole group of identical comments being posted on a list of ideas in quick succession where it is very obvious that no real consideration can have been made within that time frame.
Maybe even send a notification to alert an educator of the spamming activity for the member to be educated if needed.

This is a really great idea and should be implemented by the end of next week at the latest. The ridiculous amount of members that repeat their comments or only change a couple of words from their original post is blatantly abusing the system. We all know who are guilty of doing this.Thank you Bertie bat for putting this forward.?

Good idea

I have just read through another idea and also read through a lot this afternoon.I am shocked that so many members repeat their posted comments. If a member posts a second comment they should automatically be put to their 1st post where they can then add to or edit it.
Thoughts on this please.

I think that is a great idea. Please post it to Labs and I will gladly support.

Excellent idea too much copy and paste
going on for payback and a filter to stop
this practice would be fantastic as there
should certainly be better answers that
are tailor made for the individuals that
are being helped and make them feel
satisfied without the helpers response .

Good idea not sure why this has not been implemented yet... Would rather have supportive comments that help on labs rather then (voted) (good idea) just doesn't explain why you like idea or give advice.

The guy who wrote this idea does it himself moans like a little girl saying people spam all the time he must be a very lonely old man sitting in is room 24/7 say no more..

adamtheant I have seen you do it so and I think your comment is rude!

Thank you for your support zuzieq. Luckily adamtheant and his 'mates' seem to have disappeared since the June payout, unfortunately there are still plenty of pointless posters posting and ruining Labs though.
