Scanning passport/driving license option

By: johnphillipswhufc1980 | 19-03-2018 10:51

It would be a far safer and less time consuming way to validate your identity if you could scan in your passport and/or driving license instead of the archaic way we have to manually type them in which doesn't seem tonwork?

All other companies have the capability to do this so why can't Giffgaff?

Why not? Without an explanation, it's both a fairly pointless comment and comes across as just rude.

Seems like it makes sense but I expect it is one of those things that other bigger better funded companies can do but Giffgaff aren't one of those companies.

Sharing documents as sensitive as these with any website is probably a bad, bad idea.

If as suggested the fault lies with document code, the website staff, would still need to manually type them in and upload them for verification.

The Answer seems to me that improving instructions on how we are to submit the code, including chevrons<> without spaces, is the way to go.

I entered the code without any difficulty and the block was removed the next day. To my mind, other documents should be introduced, credit cards and electoral register id numbers that allow the age verification process to complete.
