We have many members that use giffgaff from many countries, students and visitors.
When you activate a SIM card with a goodybag purchase, the monthly recurrence is set to ON by default and the goodybag will recur automatically each month.
When these members return to there native Home countries and do not intend returning to the United Kingdom they take the giffgaff sim card out of there phone and do not use it again.
By doing this after 6 months there Sim card is deactivated by giffgaff for being inactive, but there giffgaff account stays active along with the recurring goodybag.
Each month there goodybag charge is still taken from there account.
The members forget all about it untill one day they notice the charges and think what is going on, they want to stop this happening but have forgot there giffgaff account login details.
As they can not login to there account they can not turn recurring goodybags off and remove the payment card details.
I would suggest when a sim card becomes deactivated after 6 months through inactivaty then the recurring goodybag/Auto top feature is also turned off automatically by the system.
It would also be a good idea if the system could recognize after 2 recurring goodybags have been purchased and not used ( No giffgaff use ) that there may be a problem.
And send an auto email and text message to remind the members if they are no longer using there giffgaff sim card not to forget to turn recurring goodybags/Auto top up OFF.
This would prevent many unhappy customers and also prevent the problems it causes
