Clearer voting symbology in the Lab

By: abiable | 18-12-2017 19:35

I think there should be another way of indicating whether you're voting for or against an idea on the lab. I've been pushing the blue heart simply because in my head it's more positive colour and its also where the '+' used to be on the old lab design. Can we go back to pluses and minuses? Or up and down arrows? I can't be the only one who's been confused by this? Thanks for your time.

Edit: I've added this to the 'Contribute' area of the forum, if you agree that things aren't clear please consider posting on there: https://community.giffgaff.com/t5/Contribute/Clearer-voting-symbology-in-the-Lab/m-p/21270478 as I'm trying to bring in to the attention of GG App Development but struggling!

Personally speaking, I don't have a problem with the current set-up, as I find the terminology ("not for me") that's displayed above the "broken heart" symbol, makes it quite clear that it's a downvote that is being selected. But saying that, you're not the first person to express that kind of concern, so perhaps there is still room for improvement. I'll be interested to see how this one develops.

Edit: I've just noticed that on the mobile site, there is only the two heart symbols. So yes, you're right, there is definitely room for improvement. So with that in mind, I'm happy to offer my support.

> I find the terminology ("not for me") that's displayed above ... Well, that's the thing, you shouldn't have to rely on additional cues when the symbols themselves could be made far more obvious.

Yes, I quite agree, which is why I offered my support.

I can see how this could easily confuse folk so will support a change of icon. ( never like heart shapes ).

a simple thumbs up and thumbs down would make more sense to me. The broken heart seems a bit too negative to me!

Looks exactly the same as what it was to me. Still got the hearts, pink and blue

How exactly has this been implemented as I can see no difference at all?
