Borrow from giffgaff

By: loopytive84 | 01-10-2017 11:09

If you run out of data or mins then u can borrow up to 5 pound from giffgaff and pay it back next time you top-up, as long as it is before your goodybag runs out.

I don't think it's feasible for giffgaff to consider tbh, unfortunately not everyone would pay it back/top up again. How would they recoup their money?

But there are lots of ideas in the same vein that you could possibly support.

As giffgaff is a free to go, no contracts, commitment free provider how would you ensure that the money is paid back?

Why?.....members can already start/renew goodybags early and use auto top-up to ensure they always have credit available.

Shouldn't giffgaff encourage members to manage their accounts and credit responsibly rather than encouraging irresponsible borrowing etc?

etc etc etc

hello there all giffgaff yeah that borrowing £5 from giffgaff when you have run, (so yeah it's a nice Idea, has most phone company's do it),now, the only problem with it is people would then be short on the goody bag they buy or people would just not bother with sim again and do it again. Let's just say I set up another sim topped up with £10 so I'd get the £5 payback and the sim I topped up £10 would get the free £5 so after credit is all done then I would borrow the £5 and then throughout the sim after the 5pound was use giffgaff would of lost out big time, ,so if they lower the amount it might work sorry if I put a damper on it

How about giffgaff give you that £5 as airtime credit when you join, and if you use it then it is up to you to top it up again whenever it is convenient for you. (Topup £10 and then use £5 existing credit to buy your £5 goodybag and the rest remains as airtime credit.)

Implemented, along with early starting of goodybags so you don't have to waste that £5 at non-goodybag rates.

That would be cool- a loan (but without the interest :))

Do you mean borrow credit? What happens if you don't repay before the goodybag runs out?

This has been sugested time again. Its not going to work. What if somebody only tops up once and dont top up again. I think people should make sure they have an adequate goodybag for their needs and make sure they have spare airtime credit for emergenceys.

I don't support this idea.

It would open up a business can of worms as far as credit/lending/licenses is concerned. It might seem simple on the surface but it really is not!
