The new iPhone X will introduce faceID. I think giffgaff should implement this for compatible devices.

I don't think face ID is really necessary and won't always work due to light. Touch ID really is enough. What's next? Voice ID!

Touch ID is enough really. I am an iPhone fan but not a fan of this face ID tech in general.

Face unlocking has been around on phones for years, but because apple announces it for their latest ilame device people think it's new. Apart from the demo fail, it's also a bad idea, see the article at new scientist: www.newscientist.com/article/2147204-why-the-iphone-xs-face-id-is-a-terrible-way-to-secure-your-data/

Great idea, but the giffgaff app already supports Touch ID, and any app that uses the Touch ID API will automatically also support Face ID on iPhone X.

So, without wanting to burst your bubble, this idea has technically already been implemented!

I think using it to unlock the phone would be too complex to be possible as an Add-on app.

However, it may be possible to use the camera for face ID to log in to Giffgaff.

I'd like that idea.

I understand the the iphone has a built in infra red scanner to do this.

How on earth can any company build an app to provide this?

If you mean add this facility to the giffgaff app alongside finger print recognition then this idea makes more sense.

This is another classic example where ideas such as this need to first go to Contribute so that they can be properly formulated.
