Electoral Register listing Allows Adult Content Access

This simple idea would assist those who do not have a Driving Licence or Passport. New rules mean that you have to prove your identity to your local council. Usually through providing your National Insurance Number, the council checks your age and ID with Government website and includes you on the next published register. Giffgaff could then check a member's age in the same way they do now with passports and licences. It really is that easy.

A very sensible idea! I've tried putting in my number but it will not accept it?

There must be so many other ways you can prove your over 18 surely.

Even though giffgaff are looking into this idea we need more support to raise awareness and hopefully get our idea implemented.

Many young adults are without driving licences and machine readable passports.

Yet all British, Irish, EU and eligible Commonwealth Citizens are required to register on the Electors Register for FREE, from the age of 18 for the right to vote. As this is the same age that Ofcom have set to access adult content it makes sense to adopt the Electoral Register as the primary qualification that is linked to your address and also linked to your National Insurance Number.

We should remember that driving licences are obtainable from 16yrs of age and Passports from 0yrs of age in the UK whereas to vote in General Elections you must be EIGHTEEN.

Seems a perfect fit.

Yes I agree... I've tried to turn restriction off, but I don't have a driving licence and my passport is way out of date...
