2fa on account login, #OATH-TOTP

By: mikejonesey4 | 01-08-2016 12:57

I ran a search for 2fa, it returned no results.
I'm keen to see 2fa implemented on account login, there are many open source tools to assist with the setup so it should be a relativley easy task to implement on the website.
This would increase security alot, and protect whilst loggin in on possibly unsafe wifi networks.

I keep being told by Giffgaff support that I have to comment here if I want to be heard, so here I am.
It is absolutely imperative that Giffgaff adds second or multi-factor authentication on their online accounts immediately. There are now at least 7 ideas that cover this:

Many of these are over 4 years old. It's very clear that no one reads or moderates this board.
That's fine - it's up to you to choose whether to moderate the board, but if you're not going then your agents need to stop telling people to raise ideas for things that have been open for 4 years already and be honest about the fact that no one cares what's written here.

Yes agree, 2FA on the GiffGaff account using something like Google Authenticator would make things a lot more secure.

It's important that Giffgaff supports two factor authentication because ownership of your phone number is often used as a recovery mechanism, anyone gaining access to your giffgaff account can request a PAC code, steal your phone number and using that gain access to your other accountss.
I want to be able to keep my Giffgaff account secure using 2FA.

While we should all want to see our account security maximised this has already been suggested so perhaps best to add support there.
