The gasbag

A Talktime Only Goodybag.

Having just seen the announcement that the hokey cokey goodybag is going to lose its raison d'etre the extra minutes for calls received, and coupled with the announcement that goodybags will be obtainable via the 43430 number, maybe it's time to have a new goodybag for those who don't use their phone for anything other than calls.

The gasbag

What I am proposing is a new £5 goodybag that is simply talk time, I think 500 300 minutes for £5* sounds reasonable.

(my reasons for that price for 500mins are, the £7.50 goodybag has 250mins and 500mb, the £5 gigabag has 500mb, so ignoring other allowances that's £2.50 for 250mins so I think the price point is fair).

[Edit to add: I've done a little more number crunching, and if you add up the value at new payg prices of what you will get in the soon to be introduced nokey cokey, it comes out at exactly the same value as 300 minutes of talk time, so to keep this proposal realistic I have changed the amount of minutes accordingly.]

What do people think, is it a good suggestion?

*EDIT:

A range of gasbags could be done, in the same way as gigabags are.

£3* = 150 minutes

£5* = 300 minutes

£10* unlimited (or 1000 minutes?)

There are lots of gossiping granny and grandads out there that this will apeal to!

500 300 minutes a month works out as more than15mins around 10 minutes a day to keep in touch with loved ones.

*My pricepoints are just a suggestion, pricepoints can be ironed out, but they do seem roughly consistant with curent bundle pricing to me. (have a look, I can't be bothered to draw the graphs).

Well done, revjonty! All GOODYBAGS are now ‘gasbags’ since even the £6 Goodybag has unlimited minutes and SMS texts! Not exactly an ‘implementation’ of your idea, but a fulfilment of a dream, as it were. I campaigned behind the scenes in various discussions about the future of Goodybags for a bundle suitable for elderly people with non-smartphones who need no data, but who might suddenly need a lot of call time for medical emergencies (some of which involve being placed ‘on hold’ in a queue) or other issues. The new unlimited minutes for ALL were not anticipated, but are a very welcome bonus, and much appreciated!

well I don't think that we need a calls only goodybag so much as a goodybag without data for people who have basic phones (for whatever reason) or people who don't want internet on their phones.
