Choose your own number

Have recently seen this Elsewhere and thought it might be a good way for giffgaff to improve their revenue and for those that want an easier number to remember.  It gives a list of available telephone numbers and charges extra ( £3.99 ) for those that are easier to remember because of repetitive numbers. Eg. 07588822200.

Very hard to implement and this could impact on how quickly new sim activations take - as the system would need to run a check to see if anyone has requested a certain number before allocating a random number to a new sim activation.

Would be good, but I dont think it would be practical.

I agree. Could lead to too much chaos.

suppose its a good idea but after you have had the same number for years it is not really a problem to remember it

A few networks offer you a choice of easier numbers when registering, but none of the ones I know of charge.

to have the choice offered is great for those with memory issues, but to hold those numbers back and charge for them is just wrong. Also it would deprive those who would benefit, but unable to pay, a chance of having such a number.

Im not voting for a corrupt two tier system.
