GiffaGaff For The People By The People. (I love this idea)

So my idea goes like this- Instead of having set plans i.e £12 for so many minutes, texts, and data; you have the option to pick how many minutes, texts, and data you want. The cost is processed from the relavant ammounts you choice, and everyone is happy (hopefully).

I'm not sure if this makes much sense (the festive times have certainly catched up with my senses) so I've attached a picture I created on paint. You're welcome to even use my wonderful 'slider' idea and the catch phrase.

If you use more of one then the other you should be able to convert minutes into data

i totally agree... less minutes and definitely more data

I barely use mins so an option to have more data less call time would be great!

If everyone is concerned about more data, and its unlikely that it would be cost effective for giffgaff to offer that kind of service, may the idea should be about more data heavy packs amongst the selection; these used to be on offer some 5 years ago but maybe they proved to be unpopular?

I think the reason they have priced it they way they have is because data is probably the most expensive service on the list and takes bandwidth away from other services across the whole network. Sure offsetting it would be nice but can you imagine trying to tailor an automated process to price this correctly? Pricing schemes change frequently due to a number of reasons, current customer base, inflation, market pressure from competitors, and unforseen events like newer technology, natural disasters or terrorism, etc. Companies constantly have a balancing act of trying to provide a service and make a decent profit; trying to translate that in to a little slider whilst ensuring they don't lose money hand over first when this algorithm doesn't take in to account recent event, would be a nightmare! This algorithm would need to be more dynamic and intelligent than the current google search algorithm which is enormous and uses machine learning. The number of coders on the planet with level of maths, coding and algorithm knowledge required to for that task is miniscule, which obviously makes them rather expensive to hire. To be honest with you, most of the individuals with that level of intelligence are probably working for Goldman Sachs and Barclays designing those wonderful deridatives that triggered the financial crash in 2008 instead of say NASA or Universties like 20+ years ago.

TLDR: For this idea to work properly it would take an enourmous amount of work to only address a few customers who want more data, a more efficient endevour would be to have a variety of data heavy packs with little else.
