send a pre paid sim card to a loved one

Hi all how about a service to enable giff gaff members to purchase  from there account  then send a sim card to a loved one directly from giff gaff  ready set up  with credit, contact numbers, and details like turning off answer phone ?

Did understand you to mean the initial topup would come from your airtime credit? If so, then no, as it would be open to abuse. Email and password issues might present a security risk. All in all I cannot support this idea.

Would be useful if there was a way around some of the technical issues (logons/passwords etc)

Good idea where giffgaff will benefit as well as the person recieving.

What happens if the sim gets lost in the post?  Pre-paid sims are not covered by Royal Mail - must be sent Signed For service.....

I think if somebody is going to use giffgaff, they need to be able to understand how the network operates and therefore either needs to be able to do it themselves or have a supportive person to hand (or be able to use the forums).  Spoon feeding somebody in this way may backfire

Morning all,

Just to let you know we're officially working on bringing a significant chunk of this member idea to life, the focus being giving members the opportunity to ability to pre-pay a goodybag prior to activating their SIM.

We'll give you further updates as soon as they fly in.
