Non Expiring Data Sim

By: borg42 | 29-06-2014 20:48

I think this would be a fairer way of operating the gigabags. The product is sold on the basis of the amount of data. presumably GiffGaff would be happy for me to use the amount of data on my gigabag within the specified time. So if I've paid for that amount of data I should be allowed to use it all however long it takes.

I'm sure if I used all my allowance i a week GiffGaff would be more than happy to let me purchase another.

Come on GiffGaff step up and provide a product nobody else is. I'm sure you would have floods of tablet and low usage users flocking to buy your data sims. :smileyhappy:

Cheers

This obviously sounds like a nice idea and many would agree with it simply because they don't actually understand how giffgaff as a virtual network have to pay for the services we use. Giffgaff have to work out their monthly requirements to feed the customer base they have, they have to work out how much band width to purchase for the months ahead in order to maintain service if they get it wrong then the service would be in danger of breakdown and service outages. So by knowing how much they are going to need in advance, they don't buy more than they need, this in turn saves costs on their supply needs and that cost saving is why they can offer the deals we all enjoy. If the monthly customer requirements were uncertain then the safety factor of extra bandwidth they would need to pay to cover the unknown demand would increase and so would the costs, this in turn would have to be passed on to the customers.

Yes it's a nice idea but unfortunately one that can mostly only be provided by the main network providers as they have, at the end of the day, unlimited bandwidth.

Hope this helps all

I agree, it should go to the next month

on all SIMs data should rollover. I believe Gg would make more money that way anyway, because users would make more EFFICIENT use of their money and feel more plush and trusting. A win win. But do not introduce a dedicated rollover sim. Just get rid of horrible non-rollover concept.

I support the notion to roll over any unused data to the following month if not used yet paid for
