Non Expiring Data Sim

I think this would be a fairer way of operating the gigabags. The product is sold on the basis of the amount of data. presumably GiffGaff would be happy for me to use the amount of data on my gigabag within the specified time. So if I've paid for that amount of data I should be allowed to use it all however long it takes.

I'm sure if I used all my allowance i a week GiffGaff would be more than happy to let me purchase another.

Come on GiffGaff step up and provide a product nobody else is. I'm sure you would have floods of tablet and low usage users flocking to buy your data sims. :smileyhappy:

"At giffgaff our member's ideas power us to a better way", unless we, Giffgaff, "The Management" disagree with the idea then it is just "Not for us" and no explanation (that I can see anyway).

Please share with us why this is "Not for us"? Most of the comments I've read are very positive with regards to this idea. I certainly think it's a winner. In this IoTs age I think a sim with longterm data usage would be great. Ok I appreciate it cannot be eternal (sims get lost and numbers need recycling), but a long term data sim of 12 months would be great for many users starting to explore this brave new world of remote IoTs. If some data on the sim is used within 12 months the timer resets, if it isn't a small annual amount is required to keep it active. To cover the marginal cost of having the sim on the network for maybe a few minutes each month.

When I see data disappearing due to it expiring like a perishableI I feel mugged.

Maybe only allow X number of "long term data sims" to users with a monthly subscription? The cost of the "long term data sims" would become marginal and covered sim monthly subscription. (It would encourage me to move my monthly over to Giffgaff)

Giffgaff claim to be different and a "mobile network run by you", then step up and prove it or share with us why it is "not for us" so we can come up with alternative ideas. If you already have and I've missed it, I apologise and please share with me the reasoning (a link etc).

Either way, saying it is "Not for us" is slightly insulting, when you may actually be saying "not possible" due to XYZ (eg. being a MVNO your SLA with the parent network does not allow it).


PS. I am new to Giffgaff and had high hopes until I saw this.

I completely agree that you should be able to use your data even if your goodies bags have expired I fully support this and Giff-gaff would be the first to do thisSuch a great idea Giff gaff please help us as I don't want to go to another network just to get my data rolled over We know u can do this it is a great ideaWe need this updated thank you giffgaff can't wait to hear that it is in the pipe line

I have 3 days left to use 27gb I think this is a great idea or even a roll over of data but a new aim with a new sim to keep your data going so u can use it all then if needed we can buy a goodie bag for mins n txt if needed as some of us are really on the bread line and struggle to top up then don't get to use all remaining data so Giff gaff please listen to us all
