Non Expiring Data Sim

By: borg42 | 29-06-2014 20:48

I think this would be a fairer way of operating the gigabags. The product is sold on the basis of the amount of data. presumably GiffGaff would be happy for me to use the amount of data on my gigabag within the specified time. So if I've paid for that amount of data I should be allowed to use it all however long it takes.

I'm sure if I used all my allowance i a week GiffGaff would be more than happy to let me purchase another.

Come on GiffGaff step up and provide a product nobody else is. I'm sure you would have floods of tablet and low usage users flocking to buy your data sims. :smileyhappy:

Cheers

What happens when members circumstances change, ie they need a different goodybag for more data or minutes etc or they want to change from 3G to 4G etc?

How does this fit in with the giffgaff commitment in their manifesto of "No contract. Pay as you go. Change your plan every month."?

Longer lasting goodybags have been the subject of many ideas and allegedly giffgaff are supposed to be looking at them as per this idea:

Members should support the original idea here:

??@nfh your idea is great it's like when you buy a phone from giffgaff teh more your pay upfront the less you pay overall so like this the more Goodybags you choose over time so say 12 months I may get more money of than the person who chose to stay for 6 months. Great idea. Will work perfectly :)

Hi there when I mean 3 months goodybag I  meant that you select a goodybag (£15) for three month and then it automatically give you three months worth of Goodybags but mocks of £5 leaving you paying £40 for three Goodybags rather than £45 because you chose to stay with giffgaff for longer. The goodybag will last 1 month and then finish and then another goodybag will become active and finish and then the last one will. This option will be great for people who know which goodybag they use and know that they won't change to another goodybag. It may not be good for everyone but for most I'm sure it's good if they're planning to stay with giffgaff for at least the next three months:)

I agree with nfh. The idea is great! Implementing it as buying multiple months of goodybags in one hit would work perfectly for giffgaff. Maybe the option could offer a bigger fee on extended time. E.G. £5 goodybag - 1 month: £5 2 months £10 3 months £14.50

This would make sense if the allowances were annualised along with the charges. I think the best way to implement this would be to allow customers to buy multiple months of goodybags in one hit (up to 12 months) and then for allowances to be aggregated across the entire goodybag period. This would reduce the loss of unused allowances that customers have paid for, which is currently an unfair commercial practice. If customers have paid for usage, why shouldn't they be able to use it?
