Non Expiring Data Sim

By: borg42 | 29-06-2014 20:48

I think this would be a fairer way of operating the gigabags. The product is sold on the basis of the amount of data. presumably GiffGaff would be happy for me to use the amount of data on my gigabag within the specified time. So if I've paid for that amount of data I should be allowed to use it all however long it takes.

I'm sure if I used all my allowance i a week GiffGaff would be more than happy to let me purchase another.

Come on GiffGaff step up and provide a product nobody else is. I'm sure you would have floods of tablet and low usage users flocking to buy your data sims. :smileyhappy:

Cheers

I agree with this. I would like to see this idea extended to data in goody bags too.

Yes in goody bags as well- you've paid for the data use so it should roll over

So would I like to see this also as I never fully use all my data so should be added to month after as long as you keep topping up each month

Yes, definitely the goody bags!

If you pay for it and not use it in the monthly goody bag it should roll over to it expires

I agree, it should roll-over to the following month. Come on GG get yer act together, you'll increase yer client count.. 'PEACE'

I agree, do it for the goodybags please, I never use all my data. It would be good to do the same with call minutes too.

on: 17-06-2018 11:54

Or it should go into a piggybank that you can call on any time.

I agree

I only buy a goodybag when going abroad, and often have lots of calls & texts 'left over'. I don't understand why goodybags or gigbags have to expire, except to make us pay more!

Agreed

Seriously, this is one of the best ideas, if I went over my data limit, allow me to purchase more when I do instead of having to wait til the end of the month, or if I don't use it all, let it roll over onto my next month, or just until I use it all!

I can go for weeks without doing any serious browsing on the go and only using wifi, then suddenly I'll go out for a couple of weeks and be on that daily youtube and instagram blogfest, I think it would be great for digital nomads, bloggers, vloggers, gamers and hikers and also just your average user who has an irregular usage pattern, also it would show that gg listens to the community and treats them fair in a "They bought it, they get to use it" sense.

Let's make this happen!

how would this work for people who buy the unlimited goody bag?

interesting question, you could apply rollover if data use was less than x Gbytes per month, otherwise it would have to be renewed. The problem lies in choosing an acceptable figure for x. For example if x was 10 Gb, if user used 20Gb in a month it wouldn’t roll over, if they used 5Gb it would and they would have to renew when 10 was used no matter how many months.

This would reflect well on giffgaff enormously!

It would present a real transparency in the way giffgaff operates and be a shining example of community-based network for mobiles really going the extra mile for its customers..

We want better than any of the other mobile networks provide, for a variety of reasons we all left previous networks to join giffgaff to actually get what we wanted at a fair cost. Perhaps do what SKY offer, along with those kind of conditions?

Having a good old plain upfront honest addition like this demonstrates why more people would leave their current provider and join giffgaff as well as really making it easier for giffgaff member to ‘sell’ giffgaff to friends and family!

It’s a no-brainer giffgaff: it could be a win win for everybody at really no extra cost but would also capture people looking at joining SKY as well as those just thinking about leaving a current provider but waiting for contract to finish or even wondering if the grass is greener. Let’s show how awesome giffgaff is!

I agree absolutely. From the user's perspective, we want to buy something and have it available until we have used it. Data or phone minutes should not time expire. I can see that it might add risk to GiffGaff's accounting but I would not be averse to a small connection charge so that you keep your income coming in to cover your fixed overheads, and then sell data and minutes that never expire.

Someone else's comment that it would have customers flocking to you is credible. Certainly I would suit my usage. Be bold GiffGaff and stay ahead of the pack.

Carrying over data is a great idea, it's just a shame giffgaff are behind the curve on this. Other carriers are already offering this as standard.

I like this place idea we’re becoming increasingly more dependant on data I mean who really uses txts and minutes anymore
