Unanswered Posts tab

By: silvercentral | 26-05-2014 22:49

It's happened once or twice that I posted a question and I got no answer whatsoever. Not even someone saying "I don't know". Naturally I was quite disappointed, but I realise maybe it wasn't the right time of the day or the right person just wasn't online at that moment to see it. My question then got crowded out into oblivion by all the newer posts.

My idea is: Can we have an extra "Unanswered Posts" tab (something like the "New Ideas" tab), so that every post gets a chance to be answered?
Thank you

Edited to quote @blackfive460  comment: "on some forums that I've used, it is possible to sort threads in various ways by clicking a column heading. If it were made possible to click on the 'Replies' heading to do an ascending sort, posts with no replies would appear at the top rather than have the list ordered by latest posts."

Great idea, would also be useful for members looking to answer questions. Since they could look got the unanswered questions that need their attention the most.

I presume u talking about agents, if u get no reply then all u need do is press report content button to get educators to help push agents, it always worked for me, no need for what u propose

I agree, posts don't need to be moved, but there should be a sorting option or a search option in the help section to put unanswered posts to the top.  This function is available on other forums I am on and I often use it to make sure some people don't end up feeling ignored because their query falls out of sight too quickly.

This would be useful so tough questions get answered and not forgotten about

I've voted but must say I've never experienced that. How strange :)

Just gonna give this a little shove in the right direction.

If this was implemented, we would need to stop people making pointless posts that don't provide any useful help, but would prevent a post being treated as unanswered.

I believe the forum is far more busy that when I first joined, and completely unanswered post are very rare now.  Or maybe I do need this idea because I simply don't see them...

I think this will help unanswered posts get attention, I for one would try and look for those and prioritise those for an answer if I could, as I can imagine how dispiriting it could be not to have your query acknowledged in any way.
