Allow Goodybags to be used in EU

By: deffers90 | 03-04-2014 15:05

When the scrapping of roaming charges comes into force later on next year (see bbc news story
http://m.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-26866966 ) I propose that we are able to use our normal goodybag allowance with in the EU.

I'm not if this would be in the pipeline or not but I know networks aren't allowed to charge more for calls etc than in their country of origin, but I think it would be popular with other giffgaffers

I haven't needed roaming much since I joined giffgaff, but in the past I often have, and I may need it again in the future. I wouldn't be able to stay with giffgaff if it became too expensive to use my phone in Europe. With other companies already having schemes in place, it would be daft to stay, I'm afraid.

Yes please. I was recently in the Netherlands and it was really frustrating to be worried about data charges all the time. At the minimum, follow O2's charging - where you can buy 24 hours' data roaming for £2 or £3.

Like other commenters, I may have to leve giffgaff if we don't get this.

Yes! fantastic idea. Either use existing goodybag like 3 or O2Travel: https://www.o2.co.uk/shop/international/using-phone-in-Europe

PLEASE!!! (otherwise i'll be forced to move providers!)

Yes! Very good idea. If Three can do it, we can. It was the only factor that delayed my migration from Three, and I still miss it. I wouldn't mind even if there was a more expensive EU-capable 4G goodybag.

GG could simple charge say £2 extra to add the goody bag for use in the EU

Looking forward to see this applied, with the huge number of foreigners and student coming over to UK, this will be beneficial for both, users and  GiffGaff.  Nice one.  :)

Very good idea. A lot of people I know who use giffgaff are from Europe, myself as well, and would make it so much easier to fully use giffgaff.

agree. some form of EU package is definitely required whether it be in the form of a travel bolt on or includes using our current goodybag bundle.

my job is a coach driver and i often end up in europe, when across the water it is a nightmare for me as I end up paying for everything rather than it coming out of my inclusive package. this is very frustrating and also mmeans that if im on a heavy month of going to europe my £15 4G goodyback can end up costing me in the region of £60

Three has already paved the way in this area with their agreements across many EU countries to abolish roaming charges and would be a factor in me returning to Three.  Choosing between Giffgaff and three was my dilemma.  If the giffgaff goodybags covered EU too then there would be no decision to make!
