Allow Goodybags to be used in EU

By: deffers90 | 03-04-2014 15:05

When the scrapping of roaming charges comes into force later on next year (see bbc news story
http://m.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-26866966 ) I propose that we are able to use our normal goodybag allowance with in the EU.

I'm not if this would be in the pipeline or not but I know networks aren't allowed to charge more for calls etc than in their country of origin, but I think it would be popular with other giffgaffers

add ons like EE could be a way of doing this, but instead of only a few hours to use lots of data, the data allowance for a weekend for example.

I thoroughly agree. This would be so much easier for those of us who travel a lot

If normal goody bags aren't possible,  then try a euro specific goody bag, that would be automatically enabled once you joined a non UK network.

I agree in principle but this could lead to giffgaff incurring more charges by any person from EU sending their family giffgaff sims - would be great IF there was no additional charge to giffgaff but am sure all networks in different countries set their own rates/fees.

I think this idea should be developed to allow people to buy an ADD-ON to allow their goodybag to be used in EU for a set fee for a period of 1-2 weeks.

Yes please - would be fab for the kids on school trips abroad as well! And for European holidays! And, and, and ...

Years ago Vodafone used to have an excellent rate on their pay as you go sim cards for topping up and using the air time credit abroad; for me I travel a lot and would definitely benifit from a similar deal with GiffGaff credit for rates abroad outside of UK.

I'm sure something along these lines would be up for consideration following the changes.

I just switched to Three for "feel at home" where you can use your data in a lot of EU countries.
I'd go back to giffgaff immediately if they will do this.

"I know networks aren't allowed to charge more for calls etc than in their country of origin"

I expect that will just mean you get charged standard uk pay as you go rates abroad rather than it becoming included in the goodybags.
