Giffgaff to press OFCOM for airtime credit transfer

By: matthewhill1996 | 13-10-2015 18:32

When you move banks you can have the balance of your current account moved over. When you move mobile providers you have to run your airtime credit down of the operator gets to keep it.

That's not fair and inhibits competition.

Ofcom should require PAYG operators not only to port numbers but port credit

Disagree. I don't thik giffgaff or any mobile network should refund you for credit you've already topped up.

Bit like Turkeys voting for Xmas. Not about to happen. However if you ammended your Title to read Accept transfer of credit from O2 and vice versa. It might stand a chance as the money stays within the group.

this sounds great in theory - but in practice is very hard to implement.. it would perhaps be just better for networks to provide refund to customers when they leave
